Frequently Asked Questions
What is coaching?
While in some ways, therapy and coaching are similar, coaching differs from therapy in that it takes a present and future oriented approach, and is generally a better fit for high functioning individuals that are looking to build grit, resilience, and interpersonal effectiveness.
What is burnout?
Burnout is physical and emotional exhaustion as a result of chronic stress. Burnout shows up as detachment, cynicism, difficulty sleeping, irritability, procrastination, and difficulty concentrating.
What will we work on?
My style of coaching draws from my training in acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing, as well as my expertise in working with anxiety and stress related issues. We will work together to clarify your values, improve your interpersonal skills, and increase your coping skills to proactively address work-related stressors. We'll also work together on improving your mindset and resilience so that you can address and overcome difficulties and barriers effectively.
Where will we meet?
Similar to my therapy services, I primarily offer services online over video teleconferencing, and have select spots available at my offices in Oakland and San Francisco, reserved for long-term clients or clients with barriers to attending appointments online.
Can I do both coaching and therapy with you?
My coaching services are separate and cannot be provided alongside therapy services. If you have a history of trauma or are experiencing significant anxiety, panic, and/or depression symptoms, therapy is likely a better fit at this time.
